not sure if I hear Mercy in this. some great crunchy guitar in there. obviously I can't wait to hear a cleaner version. Can't say this sounds particularly groundbreaking though, but i'll wait to hear the real deal before I go into that. not a big fan of the wind gusts at the end.

i agree with the not being so "groundbreaking" ... but like you said, this is not clear enough to hear everything.

From what I could hear, it sounded alright - the wind drowned it out quite a bit and the speakers had to be turned full up. So we can expect this, if it even will be a new single or even turns out to be anything, two weeks from the new album release then, following from the style of Vertigo > HTDAAB and then Beautiful Day > ATYCLB.
And regarding the comments about Achtung Baby 2, expect it to be more like All That You Can't Leave Behind 2 - an almost-end-of-decade sound, if Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno have anything to do with it. We'll just have to wait until September to see, won't we.

There's a speech on some of the Vertigo US shows (Chicago 2005-09-21) comes to mind.
"Edge is from the future"...I think with this sound, he could just well be.

i'm kind of confused by this statement. Eno and Lanois are the best producers anyone could hope to have, if someone wanted to make a groundbreaking record, it is them on the top of the list. The last thing I'm expecting is ATYCLB 2, which, wasn't that positioned filled by Bomb already?

Bono also spoke of "just getting started", that statement along with the insight on the album, makes me all the more excited, maybe this album will back that statement up
